Kansas City, Mo. (July 28, 2010) - Save lives and save money at the same time, October 11-17, 2010, during Back in the Swing Retail Therapy® Week. The signature fund-raising event has funded programs in Kansas City to make our city the leader in post-treatment care for breast cancer survivors.
During the second full week of October, more than 850 metro-area stores and restaurants help to raise awareness of post-treatment care for breast cancer survivors. This year, more than 42 shopping centers and hundreds of participating stores and restaurants will honor the Back in the Swing Retail Therapy Shopping Card that gives shoppers up to 20% discount on everything from slippers to salmon for seven glorious days.
Over forty shopping centers around the country will join Kansas City's retail community for the first National Back in the Swing Retail Therapy Week. Back in the Swing has partnered with StoreFinancial, Inc., an industry-leading provider of gift card programs, to promote Back in the Swing Retail Therapy through their existing gift card programs.
In Kansas City, Back in the Swing Shopping Cards can be purchased beginning August 20 online at http://kansascity.BackintheSwing.org, where visitors will find the listing of participating stores and restaurants. More than 40 locations will sell Back in the Swing Shopping Cards throughout the metro, including all area Hen House Markets. The full 100% of the $25 Shopping Card purchase price is donated to local breast cancer survivorship programs and research through Back in the Swing®, the national breast cancer survivorship nonprofit organization founded in 2000. Companies and individuals purchasing 20 to 400 Back in the Swing Shopping Cards help underwrite the cost of the event.
Back in the Swing is the first and only national, grassroots nonprofit organization exclusively dedicated to providing awareness, access, and financial support for multidisciplinary, personalized, post-treatment clinical and supportive healthcare, and academic medical research in the field of breast cancer survivorship.
