Retail Therapy® is an exercise for the mind, body and spirit! A memorable story in The New York Times first inspired the event in 2003. Titled "The News was Bad… I Went to Bendel’s"(PDF), columnist Ellen Tien poignantly illustrated the healthy, proactive and joyful benefits of shopping;
