Thanks to you, Back in the Swing helped fill a gap in medical care after breast cancer.

This video shows what survivors used to hear after treatment ends, and thanks to you, what they hear now.

In January of 2015, the American College of Surgeons (ACS) began to require that a survivorship care plan and survivorship support be among the standards of care for hospital cancer programs to receive accreditation.

As Survivorship Care Plans are given, Back in the Swing is dedicated to helping breast cancer survivors actualize those care plans, to help survivors protect and improve their health 365 days a year.

Our call to action, “Plan to Live; Live Your Plan” says it best. More than a message for our organization, it is reinforcing the fact that it’s the evidence-based care in the plan that matters!

“Live Your Plan” Project Continues into Second Year!

Thanks to community support, thousands of breast cancer survivors have and will receive The Back in the Swing Cookbook helping them to “live their plan”! At The University of Kansas Breast Cancer Survivorship Center and community practices across the city, patients receive this everyday guide to healthy living at their survivorship appointment.  Over a thousand breast cancer survivors have received this one-of-a-kind, award-winning resource to help them actualize their Survivorship Care Plans.  The Care Plans were developed by the Breast Cancer Survivorship Center, the first of its kind in the nation, established with the help of Back in the Swing funding in 2006.  Read more…
